I want to talk about how the... I feel like this is a super interesting time because the tools that we have at our fingertips are so incredible. I mean, talk about leverage. Talk about being able to leverage our own energy or leverage the incredible computational capacity of these tools with our own energy.

We can do so much more than what we used to be able to do because we actually have incredible horsepower computing for us and all we have to do is interface with them. So, the interface is really only... even though it feels limited by our hands or whatever and that's why there's an obvious push to have a kind of brain-linked device, it's still incredible how much throughput we have because of the tools that are out there and the infrastructure that connects us directly to those tools. I was also thinking about how the outsourcing of pretty much everything comes at a cost of maybe not having so much creative development or innovation within certain domains because you're kind of outsourcing all the digestion to these external brains that have their own dogmas and structures and datasets and meaning maps.

And the other thing is that it kind of changes how we interact with each other because we don't really need people to teach us or to do or to communicate with because we have these tools. And there are, of course, tons of people out there who are connecting to other people through these tools, the tools especially around communication. But it's a different nature of communication. It's more of a, like, I don't know how you'd call it.

I think that's a good footnote to make. What kind of communication is it? Now, I want to talk about this today because I feel like there's a lot of things that our contemporary life has brought on as kind of like certain neuroses. Like, I am autistic and I don't know if I mean, it's hard to believe that there could have been so many people who are autistic earlier on because as an autistic person it's incredibly hard to be around other people and I'm hypersensitive to stimulation and so I'm not really a good functioning person in a traditional tribal setting, I think.

So, the interesting thing is that I feel very much a product of this age where my neurology kind of maps to this this way of navigating the world through tools and through interfaces. So, I have found a way to create community that does not it does not put me inside of a social space, a physical social space where I would be totally overwhelmed by the stimulation. Instead, I'm able to connect to people through very specific either activations or very specific channels and kind of keep those communities and communications really specific specifically oriented so there isn't this kind of social spiral of like clickiness or small talk, banter all that stuff which I find really uncomfortable and draining. And so it's really I really do feel like my life is super supported by these tools and the most recent kind of development or discovery on my end is that I've really struggled with learning German because I actually don't really connect so well with the people here and I don't really I don't work a job in Germany so I never have to use it and actually all my experiences in German are all administrative so I pretty much have this like condition where I relate German purely to the most annoying

things that I have to do during the day which is call people, pay bills sign contracts, that kind of stuff.

But now with ChatGPT or GPT-4 I can actually have a person in the sense of I can have like a totally non-judgmental person equivalent correcting me and helping me understand my own blind spots within German. And I find this to be extremely extremely fruitful for learning a language because we kind of know that the only way to learn a language is to jump in and deal and kind of like get over your own shyness and whatever but when you hate small talk and you also are a perfectionist and you want to understand systems it becomes really really like like a big block to try and learn and especially if you don't have money because then you can't really pay someone to just like sit there and listen to you and then correct you and whatever. I literally don't want a friend. I want someone who is going to explain everything and correct everything and who will talk I mean I don't even want to talk I just want to I want to do what I'm already doing but have a way to learn German through that.

So what I've come to is the importance of kind of reframing my ideas like I take notes daily and I do daily tracking so I'm just starting to do that stuff in German. So instead of sitting down and studying German for an hour I'm basically jumping into the most practical use of language which is right now plotting my day and putting down ideas and kind of reporting on things, making notes basically but in German because I want to say those things and I've just kind of put that as an arbitrary rule and as an autistic person we function really well with kind of arbitrary rules like systems then I'm engaged in understanding how to make better sentences, how to correct my grammar and I can also ask ChachiPT to rewrite what I said but in a more fluent way and having learned another language before I know that something that works really well for me is to actually memorize the sentence and say it from memory so that I start to intuit the grammar rather than get too blocked by learning all the rules because that is my tendency. I do tend to want to learn all the rules and the structure and not just go through it but memorization is a way to habitualize and familiarize with the connection points

between words as opposed to having to compute every single time which is a very unnatural way to speak so yeah that's all that I've got on this for now.
